And when they do help you, they will do the absolute minimum. Don't waste your money.

Verified ReviewerHomeServe refuses reimbursement request that they promised and reps lie to customers.
In October 2024, I called HomeServe to set up a repair to unclog a main sewer line that was causing plumbing issues in the downstairs apartment. I stressed the urgency of the problem as clogs in the main line can cause sewage backups into the apartment, which can be a health hazard.
HomeServe attempted to set up multiple plumbers to come out, but none of them could come out the same day. So, they told me to hire a plumber on my own who could come out the same day, and that they would reimburse me. I received the reimbursement form to fill out online, uploaded the plumbing receipt, and have been waiting on reimbursement. This was early October 2024, it is now late December 2024, and I have not received reimbursement.
I have called at least 3-4 times, and each time I receive a different story from the representatives. The latest, as of 12/20/2024 when I called today, was, 'It appears we received all your documentation on the work order ending xxB02F3-1, but then we canceled the reimbursement request, and opened a duplicate order, and it's been missing documentation.' I asked them to explain why they canceled a complete reimbursement request that was not missing documentation; they didn't know. I asked them why they made a duplicate to begin with; they didn't know. I told them it seems a bit nefarious to have created a duplicate work order that was missing documents, and then cancel the work order that HAD all the documents for reimbursement, as if there was an attempt by HomeServe to simply never pay me.
Again, I have called multiple times over the last two months, including 12/12 and now 12/20. On 12/12, I was told the Reimbursement team would call me to square it away immediately. That never happened. On 12/20, I was told I can't speak to the reimbursement team, but they will call if they need anything.
Explain the logic here -- they were missing documents on the duplicate claim THEY made, but never called?
Representatives appear to not know what they're doing, and seemingly lie. The work order is SHMSA42AD524-6, and they continue to refuse to reimburse.
Preferred solution: Reimbursement of the $450 they owe me.

Verified ReviewerCompany has not sent me forms to file for a refund on a water line issue that I had, I contacted the company the first of December 2024 and was told they would send me forms. They gave me a reference
I spoke to the company on 01/08/2025, and requested the forms for filing a claim. They said that they would send an email form within 24 hours. However, as of this date, 01/18/2025, I have not received any forms.

I've had 3 plumbing warranty plans with company for at least 5 years 1 interior and 2 exterior plans. December 7th 2023 and Dec 7th 2024 sewage backed up into my home causing damage and repairs.
Plumber - belly in pipe due to earth shifting and pipes dropping (I've been in my home 26 yrs). My exterior plans cover repair and replace pipes. The company claims only covers for leaks. I will have to continue going thru this every year.
They will only snake the line. They refused to provide written documentation of their denial and reasons for denying.

Absolute the worst service.
Neighbor has homeserve and so do we. Neighbor has a had a water leak for a month over 20000 gallons flowed in our yard.
Homeserve has been to property three times not repaired anything, even though supposed to be covered! Water is now under our home. Called several times, you go through the merry - go -round.
Absolutely been the worst hassle. Youve been warned!

Verified Reviewer |Had a sewer repair 11/22 and more than two years later, I am still getting a load of double talk from someone different from The Office of the President with no satisfaction!
Sewer leak repaired on 11/22. Allowed excavation to settle until 5/23.
The person who came to do repair was not properly equipped to complete restoration! No gravel was installed before concrete repair and no topsoil was used to reseed area. Concrete sunk and caused the existing sidewalk to sink as well!
After more than 2 years, still no satisfaction! BEWARE OF HOMESERVE

Home serve USA is a scam. They charge you every month but when you need them they will not provide the services in a timely manner.
Tried to use Home serve for the first time on a weekend and the first time in three years for an emergency plumbing issue. They own the plumbing company that they use as a contractor. They will not reveal any of the other contractors on their list.
They do not want to pay for an emergency service call There are plumbers available within the next two hours but home serve will not pay them because they dont own them . Save your monthly premium for when you meet a plumber because HOMESERVE is useless

I reported my urgent electrical problem on Saturday, May 11, 2024. A technician from HomeServe repair providers was sent out to assess the electrical problem on Monday.
As of Wednesday, May 15th, I do not have a repair scheduled and do not know how much the repair is going to cost me. This is not an inconvenience but a safety hazard. Additionally, no one from HomeServe can tell me when I will have a resolution after numerous calls and emails. My policy has a $3000 limit.
I have had this policy for many years and never made a claim. It looks like a business practice to stall payment at the expense of the consumer.
User's recommendation: Received a callback from HomeServe seven hours later when they thought that I did not have coverage. I explained and they agreed that I have coverage. Still no answer from HomeServe.
Inform others not to use this company
Sewer collapsed, cannot use facilities. Took over 24 hours to get someone to diagnose the problem.
Wouldn't use recommended plumbers that were available and highly reviewed. Kept expanding their window of service as I called in. Reps were rude and unhelpful. Had to ask for a list of certified plumbers on their list, which none of the six reps offered to me until I asked.
Called plumbers and sewer repair companies myself, had reputable companies responses within hours of the line collapse. The bid from the company homeserve hired out refused to even bid the replacement within a week. Will not even end up using this warranty I paid for because of false advertising explaining timely repair. The fact that companies like this even exist with a business model that takes a monthly payment but offers you no help when they have to choose the contractor is beyond me.
Please avoid, even I'd that means stashing away your own money.
Also reviewed our city sewage facility for even offering this scam to people. I'm sure they have helped some people, but they just made my life *** for several days.

It took more than 3 weeks to have someone do the repair. Has been 4 weeks since the repairs was performed and my yard is still inaccessible, the paver were destroyed and I have not yet got any restoration performed, which is part of the coverage.
This insurance does not follow up with their contractors, I am not even allowed to call anyone else you need to get their contractors. I wont suggest to sign up with this company

I dont even think this is a real company. No one will return our calls.
Weve been calling for four days now. When we speak to someone, we are told that a supervisor will call us within 2 to 4 hours. Not one single person has called us in four days. I dont think this is actually a real company.
Do not ever ever ever ever sign up for their service. We have been paying for this service for three years now, and have never made a claim.
This is the first time we have ever made a claim, and we have received ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSE FROM ANYONE. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

Hi I had a tune up heat appointment for today that I scheduled months ago. 8-12.
They never showed up nor did I get a call. I was told after I called. I have to re schedule. They had emergencies.

I submitted an email stating a complaint about an ad. They ad showed discrimination with their service guy and someone who doesnt work for them.
They depicted this person as someone not capable of doing the job. There is no bases for that assessment other than biasis against him( he pulled up his tool belt before seeing customer that they chose to show). i initially sent an email and reply was an encrypted one. Why is that?
I chose not to open it. Sent 2nd email requesting a regular email.
Requested that they remove it. No reply.

HomeServe contractor repaired neighbor waterline. They damaged my waterline which runs beside it.
My line had been completely replaced in the past. The contractor had no arrangement with me. They admitted to fault but would not discuss in detail. I asked to discuss details and specific liabilities.
They came to my "non contracted" home while I was at work without discussing anything although they stated thru HomeServe home office that they will do whatever is necessarry.. turned off my water from the street and cut into my waterline. They did not call me at all before or after. I notice that someone had been digging again and called.
I have no valid and clear evidence of before or after. THey claim to have gotten a legal authority to do what they did. IT IS MY PROPERTY and it was not cleared with me. Now, HomeServe and the contractor are not responding.
Both of their licenses should be revoked.. Obviously, this will turn into a court matter. They believe I will go away but I WILL NOT.. And, they have admitted to everythig in print.
I have 4 to 5 months of water bills that need to be handled. I am waiting.
So, I had no contract but they made me a recipient of their BS service by living next door to their customer
Preferred solution: My line replaced back to original state ie not damaged
User's recommendation: Do not trust the office of the President of HomeServe.Cody talks but does nothing to effectively solve the problem. J and L Plumbing, talks but apper to deceitful at this point. DO not deal with either. There are other choices.
